Jack's Back!

Hey, y'all (I live in the south now; I must talk like this) remember last week when I was all, "I'm going to blog about my move/road trip! It'll be hi-larious!"

But...then I didn't do that? Yeah...that plan didn't work out so well. I'll try again next week.

Fortunately, today author Heather M. Gardner has taken pity on my poor neglected blog and is sharing with us the brand new cover for the re-release of her novel, Already Home.

Come and admire it with me, won't you?

Title: Already Home
Second Edition: formerly Maguire’s Corner
Genre: Contemporary Romantic Suspense
Cover Design: Najla Qamber Designs

Re-release Date: May 20, 2015

Coffee shop owner Maggie Maguire doesn’t trust the new police chief her father hired to protect Maguire’s Corner. He’s a stranger, cold, bossy and annoyingly handsome. But, Maggie’s witnessed a serious crime and now someone’s trying to kill her. The man that aggravates her most might be the only one that can help her.

Police Chief Jack Munro likes his new job and his new town, and unfortunately he also likes the stubborn but beautiful town sweetheart. His self-imposed hands-off Maggie policy is about to be put to the ultimate test when he must keep her close to protect her while he tracks down a ruthless killer.

Determined to ignore Jack’s charms, Maggie attempts to help him unravel the mystery but when their lives hang in the balance she must decide how much she’s willing to risk to save the man she suddenly can’t resist.

Heather M. Gardner's love of books began on the hand-woven rugs of her small town library where her mother worked. There she had a never-ending supply of stories to read at her fingertips. As a teen, her favorite genres to curl up with were romance and mysteries. When she started to create her own stories, they were the perfect fit.

Heather resides in New York with her best friend who is also her husband, plus her talented and handsome son. She is currently owned by four stray cats. Heather's a full-time mom, works part-time from home, a chocolate enthusiast, coffee junkie, cat addict, book hoarder and fluent in sarcasm.

Congratulations to Heather!

Thanks for stopping by today. Your continuing patience with me as I attempt to regain my equilibrium in a land where the damn sun shines all the damn time (Note: this is a slight exaggeration. While Florida is the Sunshine State, the sun does not shine at night.) is much appreciated. I'm sure I'll be back to normal (or whatever passes for normal) soon.

Spotlight's On...

Hey everyone! I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaack!

And BOY, did I miss my internet. You never know what you've got, 'till it's gone (Name! That! Reference!).

Anyway, next week I plan on regaling all of you with tales from my move and road trip to Florida (so, you know, consider yourselves warned), including such fun tales as "Big Gets A Nose Bleed," "I Think The Hotel Gave Us Fleas," and the always classic "Where the *BLEEP* Is Our Furniture?"

But today I'm happy to put the spotlight onto Patricia Lynne and her latest release (under the name Patricia Josephine).

Now available for download at Amazon!

There is only one path.

Born mortal along with his three brothers, Michael is an Archangel with a specific role: hunt fallen angels and send them back to Hell. He is determined in his mission, never straying from his appointed path, until he meets Lake Divine, and discovers there may be more to his beliefs than blind duty.

But Lake is not who he seems. Offspring of a human and a fallen angel, a Nephilim, Lake must choose his own destiny: give in to the coldness and embrace the dark, or seek the light and rise above the sins of his father.

Two paths lay before them, but only one has the potential to destroy them both.

Interested in some fun facts about this story? Here are a few straight from the author herself:

Sometimes the devil is in the details. When writing a story, little things can creep in or there are conscious choices that have meaning behind them. Here are a few fun facts about Michael that you would never know.

1. Lake's school bullies were named after my ex-boyfriends. Not at first though. One day I was editing and I thought it'd give me a giggle given how Lake gets back at them. Although, I shouldn't really laugh at that.

2. The dog Lake meets in the park is named after my friend Erin's dog. She was one of my critique partners for Being Human and helped make it awesome.

3. In the story, Jophiel is considered an archangel, but when I was looking for names I found conflicting evidence. Some sites he’s just listed as an angel, while others say in Jewish lore he is an archangel. I opted to keep the name because it was one that I had yet to see used.

4. Michael's hometown I named after Monroe, Louisiana. It's where a friend lives, but that's not where Michael is from.

5. At the beginning of chapter two, Gabe asks about cigarettes being banned in public buildings. Michigan banned smoking in bars and restaurants.

6. This last one will make all my writing friends gasp in horror. Joe doesn't like to read. But he does enjoy writing. He mostly writes jokes. His plans before finding out he's an archangel was to be a comedian.

About the Author:

Patricia Josephine never set out to become a writer. In fact, she never considered it an option during high school and college. She was all about art. On a whim, she wrote down a story bouncing in her head. That was the start of it and she hasn't regretted a moment. She writes young adult under the name Patricia Lynne.

Patricia lives with her husband in Michigan, hopes one day to have what will resemble a small petting zoo, has a fondness for dying her hair the colors of the rainbow, and an obsession with Doctor Who.
